Smith Halloween Parade

Smith School's annual Halloween Parade will take place on Friday, October 31 – weather permitting!
Schedule
- 11:30am: Children go home for lunch and change into their costumes at home.
- 1:15pm: Students return to school dressed for the parade.
- 1:30pm: Parade begins.
- 2:00pm: Students go back inside.
- 3/3:10pm: Students are dismissed as usual. There will be NO after-school clubs.
If it rains, we will need to cancel the parade since we cannot safely invite everyone inside. The same procedures will be in place with lunch at home and dressing up so that the students can see each other in the hallways.
If you cannot pick up your children for lunch due to work or other commitments, please send them to school with lunch and their costumes as we will have adults here to supervise and help them change into their costumes. There will be no HSA Lunch Program this day.
Parade Procedure
The students and teachers will walk around the school on the sidewalk. Parents may line up anywhere around the school to watch – spread out and use the entire front area and both sides of the building.
After one loop around the building, all classes will meet on the playground for pictures. Everyone is invited to join us on the field.
Students will then go inside for a party or activity around 2pm.
Costume Guide
- Items/toys that resemble any kind of weapon are NOT permitted. Leave them at home.
- Students cannot wear costumes that are offensive or hurtful to others (gender, race, culture, religion, etc.)
- Costumes should be age appropriate and not overly violent.
⚠️ If you go trick or treating after school, please be safe and alert. Drivers, pay attention and drive slowly.
